6 Lucrative Part-time Business Ideas for Office Workers

Looking for a side hustle or part-time business to help supplement your full-time income?

Or seeking a lucrative business idea that can help you launch something on the side with a potential to grow into something full-time?

You can start that solid business on the side without quitting your day job. You don’t even have to tell your boss or colleagues about it, and they wouldn’t know.

In this post, I’ll be sharing a few lucrative part-time business ideas that you can implement right away without quitting your full-time job.

These businesses are cheap and easy to launch, so you wouldn’t need to part with all your savings just to start a side business.

Let’s dive in.

Blogging

The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear about side hustle or part-time business, is blogging.

In my opinion, blogging is the ultimate part-time business, and could be the foundation for something bigger in the future.

If you have a penchant for writing about a particular topic or area of concern, then blogging might be what you need to start on the side.

You could make money with blogging via Google Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, Direct Advertising, and selling your own products.

Affiliate Marketing

If you don’t like to write or you find owning a blog or web property stressful, then affiliate marketing might just be the perfect business for you.

Affiliate Marketing is the easiest way to make money online. You don’t need to build your own website or create your own product.

Simply refer others to buy some products and you get paid for each successful sale.

The biggest Affiliate Marketing platform in Nigeria right now is Jumia Affiliate. They offer reasonable commissions and have thousands of products which you could refer to your friends, family and associates.

You could even be a personal online shopper on Jumia where you help people order for products online and get paid for it.

The opportunities are endless if you are very sociable and have a large network of people.

eCommerce Business

Still on the matter of selling online.

If you hate the idea of being an affiliate marketer and getting paid little commissions for online sales, then you can do something about it.

You can go into eCommerce and sell your choice products.

There are many niche eCommerce sites springing up in Nigeria nowadays.

All you have to do is choose a specific area of the market where you want to sell, buy products and put it up for sale.

You don’t necessarily need to have a website. You can use Instagram as your online shop and display your products on the Instagram catalogs.

Many of these niche eCommerce merchants are doing exactly that and you can copy them.

I’ve seen people selling high-quality human hair for women, high-quality body creams, sex toys, premium shoes, furniture, etc.

You just have to find a specific niche where you are able to procure the products and sell for a profit.

Crypto Trading

With the ban of crypto in Nigeria and the depreciation of the Naira, there has been a growth in demand of cryptocurrencies.

Now, we have what they call “digital malams” dealing in the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and USDT.

Just as the “Bureau De Change” has been a lucrative business from time immemorial, the crypto Trading is starting to take over a segment of the market and is very lucrative.

If you have the funds, you could start your own crypto Trading on the side and start buying and selling crypto for profit.

A simple way to do this is to start on the Binance app. Simply verify your account, deposit some funds into your preferred cryptos and start trading crypto for profit.

eBook Publishing

Back to writing business.

If you don’t fancy the idea of having a blog, but you enjoy writing stories, either fiction or non-fiction, then eBook publishing might just be the business for you.

All you need is your MS Word writing application and some story idea, and boom! you can start selling your book to a wide audience.

eBooks can be sold on Okadabooks, Amazon Kindle, Google Playstore, or on your own website.

This is a very easy business to start on the side with a potential for something bigger. Who knows, you might just become a best seller with one of your eBooks.

Travel Agency

Are you a corporate worker?

Do you have a lot of associates who travel a lot across the country or abroad?

If yes, then you could have a lucrative opportunity in hand to become a travel agent.

I love agency businesses a lot. They are like affiliate marketing but on the physical side.

You don’t have to own anything or have an inventory. All you have to do is simply help people access products and services.

As a travel agent, you could help people book flight tickets, send and return passports for visa, and offer travel planning and advisory services.

There are many niches you could target as a travel agent. From medical and educational travels, to business and tourism.

All you have to do is find a unique angle or niche you can utilize in entering the market.

As a travel agent on the side, you could be the next big weekend warrior who makes his monthly pay in just one weekend.
